Guy Code VS Girl Code

6v) For the first time ever, I went to an event on campus. On September 30^th, I attended Hickerson’s event of Guy and Girl Code. These are both TV shows on MTV and are shows that I like. They offer insight on the opposite sex and how they think about certain situations. Also, it is interesting to hear others girl opinion about common topics that we can all relate too. I went with my friend Tatiana, and when we first got there, there wasn’t that many people there.

There was definitely a 3 to 1 ratio of women to guys. Fortunately, as the night went on more guys came and they were all ready to add their input on every topic. Some things we talked about were relationships, dorming and roommates, partying, and bathroom etiquette. Some things I found surprising were some of the male’s responses to certain questions. One thing that came up was how it was ok for guys to hook up with multiple girls and that gets him more approval from their friends, and if a girl were to hook up with multiple guys she would be labeled as “hoe”. I knew all the men were going to agree to this, but what I was not expecting was the reason to why they believe it is like that. One brave guy announced that he believes that true because he claims that men expect more from women and hold them to a higher pedestal. I found this to be shocking and was expecting a completely different answer. One thing I liked about this event was that everyone was very active in each discussions and a lot of people inputted their opinions on all the topics being discussed.
